On 08/27/99, I took Fenton Avenue Charter School to the BURBANK AIRPORT for a tour. I had 58 students and 6 staff including parents on board. Our first stop was to the BURBANK AIRPORT FIRE DEPARTMENT. Our stop was suppose to be for approximately 20 mins. The firemen talked with the students and showed them the trucks. As the students were loading, one little 7 year old girl fainted. The firemen rushed out to the bus and provided assistance to this frightened little girl. We were detained for quite awhile after this incident. The firemen transported the student to a local hospital. While being detained while an investigation was going on...the firemen took the students inside. They were shown many first aide techniques and were entertained while the investigation continued. I believe from what I saw that these men went way beyond the call of duty. They were actually enjoying keeping the students occupied. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I would like to THANK these men for everything they did. I tried to find a way to write and thank them but could not find any other way than this.
